Simon Kimm has a calm and centred approach and uses a compassionate and humanistic approach to support clients (children 12+years) to achieve their goals. By understanding their strengths and background, he assists clients to identify and overcome underlying patterns of unhelpful behaviour.
Simon is a clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. His therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness, Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). His passion for humanity and mental health led to his undertaking university studies in psychology and counselling.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Simon was a small business owner for many years after serving in the Australian Defence Force both in Australia and overseas. Simon has experience working in private practice, hospital, and clinical settings with clients who have experienced a range of issues, including trauma, drug and alcohol, family and relationship difficulties, gender and identity, and mental health difficulties regarding significant medical issues. Simon has worked with clients from a large range of cultural backgrounds including Indigenous Australians and across the lifespan.
